About the School
Acad?mie Lafayette is a tuition-free public charter school district located in Kansas City, Missouri. Established in 1999, it was the first charter school in the state and offers K-12 education through French immersion, International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, and career and technical education across multiple campuses. The district serves approximately 1,300-1,352 students, with a focus on fostering globally minded, locally active critical thinkers. The educational programs include a K-8 French immersion curriculum, where core subjects are taught in French, and an IB program for middle and high school students at the Armour campus. Students in the upper grades also have access to career and technical education. Additional offerings include the option to learn a third language, such as Spanish or Mandarin, along with various electives like Art, Physical Education, and Music.
