About the School
Amber Charter Schools is a student-centered education corporation established in 2000 as the first Latino-led charter school in New York State. It serves over 1,100 students across three locations in New York City, focusing on rigorous academics and character development. Founded by the Community Association of Progressive Dominicans, Amber has expanded from its flagship East Harlem site to include Amber Kingsbridge and Amber Inwood. The schools offer education for Grades K-8, with a curriculum that emphasizes project-based learning, dual language instruction, and a whole-child approach. Amber Charter Schools provides a range of support services, including specialized therapies for students with disabilities. The organization is committed to serving underserved communities, with a diverse student body that reflects its mission to support Dominican immigrant communities and Latino families. Amber Charter Schools continues to foster an inclusive environment where students can thrive aca
