About the School
Arizona School for the Arts (ASA) is a non-profit public charter school located in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Established in 1995, it serves students in grades 5 through 12 and is recognized for its commitment to academic excellence and performing arts education. The school operates with a dual mission to provide a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum while fostering talent in the arts, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds without prior arts experience. ASA offers a unique educational program that includes two hours of performing arts education daily, covering music, theater, and dance. Students can choose from over 135 arts classes and participate in more than 60 performances each year. The school maintains a student-teacher ratio of approximately 11:1 and ranks in the top 20% of public schools in Arizona for overall test scores.
