About the School
The Educational Services Commission of New Jersey (ESCNJ) is a public educational agency based in Piscataway, New Jersey. Established in 1977, it is the largest provider of specialized educational programs, business services, and cooperative purchasing in the state. ESCNJ serves over 1,525 members, including school districts, municipalities, colleges, and government agencies across all 21 counties in New Jersey. ESCNJ operates six to seven specialized schools for approximately 800 students aged 3-21 with various disabilities, focusing on life skills, job training, and independence. The agency also manages coordinated transportation for over 14,000 students and offers cost-effective business and shared services to more than 700 school districts and government entities. Additionally, ESCNJ provides a cooperative purchasing program that delivers competitive pricing on goods and services, benefiting its members and helping to reduce taxpayer costs.
