About the School
Dearborn Public Schools is the third-largest public school district in Michigan, serving around 20,000 students across 37 schools in the Detroit Metro area. The district encompasses the entire city of Dearborn and a small part of Dearborn Heights. Established in 1944, it is led by Superintendent Glenn Maleyko and governed by a seven-member school board. The district operates as a K-14 system, uniquely partnering with a community college to allow students to earn an associate degree. It offers a range of educational programs, including free preschool for qualified families, K-12 academics, virtual learning options, and specialized STEM and technical education programs. Additionally, Dearborn Public Schools provides adult education programs and support for diverse student needs, including bilingual initiatives and accommodations for Arab American, Arab, and Muslim students. The district was reaccredited by the Cognia Global Commission in June 2023 for a six-year term.
