About the School
The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is the seventh largest school district in California, serving around 49,000 to 50,000 PreK-12 students across more than 130 schools. It operates as a public education system, offering various learning options, including in-person, distance, and hybrid models. SFUSD also provides specialized programs for students with disabilities, foster youth, and newcomers. The district offers a comprehensive range of educational services, including early education, elementary, middle, and high schools, along with specialized services like Moderate/Severe Special Day Classes and transition training centers. SFUSD is committed to equitable access and academic excellence, supported by a $1.28 billion operating budget and a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Maria Su, the district focuses on community engagement and meeting the diverse needs of its students across San Francisco neighborhoods.
