About the School
Creative Arts Charter School (CACS) is the oldest charter school in San Francisco, established in 1994. Located in the Western Addition neighborhood, it serves 429 students in grades K-8 with a student-teacher ratio of 20:1. CACS offers a hands-on, project-based curriculum that integrates visual arts, dance, music, and theater into daily learning, fostering a creative educational environment. The school emphasizes individualized support and provides an equitable, academically rigorous education. Students engage in a variety of extracurricular activities, including band, dance, drama, and sports like volleyball and soccer. CACS is a tuition-free public charter school, open to all San Francisco students, and operates independently within the San Francisco Unified School District.
