About the School
East Harlem Scholars Academies is a network of public charter schools located in East Harlem, New York. Operated by the East Harlem Tutorial Program (EHTP), the academies focus on equipping students with academic skills, character development, and emotional well-being. EHTP has been serving the community since 1958 and currently supports over 1,650 students from Pre-K to college through various educational programs. The network includes three campuses: East Harlem Scholars Academy I and II for PreK-8th grades, and East Harlem Scholars Academy High School for 9th-12th grades. These schools emphasize a student-centered learning environment and provide comprehensive services, including support for English Language Learners and special education. In addition to the charter schools, EHTP offers after-school and summer programs, a College Scholars program, and the East Harlem Teaching Residency, all aimed at enhancing educational opportunities in the community.
