About the School
The Texas Center for Arts + Academics (TCA+A) is a nonprofit organization based in Fort Worth, Texas, founded in 1946. It operates two nationally ranked, tuition-free public charter schools that serve nearly 1,000 students with an arts-integrated academic curriculum. TCA+A focuses on combining creative inspiration with rigorous academics to nurture artistic expression and develop well-rounded individuals. The organization runs the Texas School of the Arts (TeSA) for K-5 students and the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA) for grades 3-12. Both schools emphasize exceptional academics alongside fine arts training, requiring auditions for admission to ensure a commitment to the arts. TCA+A also manages specialized conservatories and performance groups, including the Grammy award-winning Texas Boys Choir and the Singing Girls of Texas, providing high-quality arts training and opportunities for students to perform internationally.
