About the School
Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington (GLOW Academy) is North Carolina's only tuition-free, all-girls public charter school, serving grades 6 through 12. The school focuses on educating and empowering young women through a college-preparatory curriculum that emphasizes leadership development and mentorship. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026, GLOW Academy is dedicated to creating a supportive environment for its students. GLOW Academy employs a "whole girl approach" that includes rigorous academics in small classes, social-emotional learning, and real-world experiences. Students engage in hands-on projects and discussions that connect to life beyond school. The school also offers college and career exploration opportunities for high school students, along with various extracurricular activities to foster student interests. GLOW Academy is open to all girls in southeastern North Carolina, ensuring that every girl has access to a future filled with opportunities and choices.
