About the School
Harlem Village Academies (HVA) is a tuition-free public charter school network located in Harlem, New York. It offers a comprehensive PreK??2 education that uniquely combines Montessori early childhood learning with an International Baccalaureate (IB) program for high school students. Established in 2001, HVA consists of five charter schools serving around 2,000 students with a dedicated team of 300 teachers. HVA emphasizes a college-preparatory curriculum, with a remarkable track record of 100% college admission for its graduates. The network provides a unified educational journey, featuring exclusive Montessori early childhood education and a "Full-IB for All" program, ensuring every high school student completes the IB Diploma. HVA is committed to serving children from Harlem's underserved neighborhoods, offering a high-quality education without tuition costs. The school is currently accepting applications for Fall 2026.
