About the School
KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools is a network of eight free public charter schools offering a college-preparatory K-12 education to students in underserved communities in North and West Philadelphia. Established in 2003, the network serves approximately 3,400 students and supports 1,300 alumni. As part of the national KIPP network, it emphasizes character development, academic rigor, and social-emotional learning. The schools operate on a lottery admission system, ensuring accessibility for all students regardless of their background. The curriculum includes a structured K-12 academic program, character development initiatives, and various enrichment opportunities such as music, student clubs, and field lessons. KIPP Philadelphia aims to prepare students for success in high school and college, fostering leadership skills and confidence for their future paths.
