The Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO) serves as an essential intermediary between the California State Department of Education and local school districts in Santa Barbara County. Headquartered in Santa Barbara, with additional offices in Santa Maria and other locations, SBCEO supports 20 public school districts and 10 charter schools, impacting nearly 70,000 students. Under the leadership of Dr. Susan C. Salcido, SBCEO provides a wide range of services, including early education, special education, career and technical education, and family support programs.
