About the School
Sunset Park High School (SPHS) is a public college-preparatory high school located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York. Established in 2009, the school serves 1,349 students and focuses on providing advanced Regents diplomas in a diverse and inclusive environment. Under the leadership of Principal Miguel Negron, SPHS emphasizes the development of future leaders through arts programming, advanced coursework, and a supportive community atmosphere. The school organizes students into three learning communities: medicine, digital technology, and maritime and sustainability. This structure fosters strong relationships between teachers and students. SPHS offers access to Advanced Placement classes and college-level courses, along with free breakfast and lunch for students. The modern, fully accessible building supports community-based education, and the Center for Family Life has been a key partner since the school's inception.
