About the School
Tennessee Nature Academy (TNA) is a tuition-free, nature-based public charter school located in Southeast Nashville, serving grades 5-12. Founded in Fall 2023, TNA started with 114 students in 5th and 6th grades and is authorized to expand to 684 students by adding one grade each year. The school emphasizes nature-based learning, integrating outdoor experiences into its curriculum to promote academic success, social connections, and well-being. TNA's curriculum aligns with Tennessee Academic Standards and includes core subjects along with arts, physical education, and agriculture sciences. Students engage in project-based learning, spending at least one hour outdoors daily. The school operates in a repurposed church building and plans to develop a new campus on 23 acres near a 300-acre park. TNA is committed to fostering a diverse and supportive community while preparing students for college and career readiness.
